Storage Eltham Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Storage Eltham to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Storage Eltham recognises that modern slavery is a serious violation of fundamental human rights and we are committed to acting ethically, with integrity, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Eltham maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, and child labour. We do not accept any form of exploitation in our own business or within the organisations with which we work. All directors, managers, employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to support this commitment and conduct business in a manner that respects the dignity and rights of all individuals.
Any confirmed instance of modern slavery connected to Storage Eltham will result in prompt and decisive action, which may include terminating contracts or business relationships, reporting concerns to relevant authorities, and implementing remedial measures to protect affected individuals.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Storage Eltham provides storage facilities and related services. While our direct operations are relatively low risk for modern slavery, we recognise that risks may arise in our supply chains. These may include providers of building and maintenance services, security, cleaning, equipment, and other goods and services used in our business.
We are committed to understanding our supply chains and working collaboratively with suppliers to identify, assess, and mitigate the risk of modern slavery. We expect all suppliers and partners to uphold equivalent standards of ethics and human rights.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Storage Eltham applies due diligence procedures when engaging with new suppliers and reviewing existing relationships. As part of this process, we seek to assess whether suppliers have appropriate policies, controls, and practices in place to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking.
We reserve the right to conduct supplier audits, either directly or through independent assessors, focusing on labour practices, recruitment methods, working conditions, and compliance with relevant laws. Where appropriate, we may request documentation, questionnaires, or on-site assessments to verify that suppliers are meeting our standards.
If a supplier is found to be in breach of our zero-tolerance policy, we will work with them to implement corrective action plans within a reasonable timeframe. Where serious or persistent non-compliance occurs, we will consider suspending or terminating the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Eltham encourages a culture of openness, transparency, and accountability. We expect anyone who has concerns or suspicions about modern slavery in our operations or supply chains to raise them without fear of retaliation.
Concerns can be reported internally through line managers or senior management. Individuals may raise issues anonymously where permitted by law, and all concerns will be treated seriously and handled sensitively. We will investigate reports promptly and, where necessary, take appropriate corrective action and cooperate with relevant authorities.
We do not tolerate victimisation of any person who makes a report in good faith or who assists in an investigation.
Training and Awareness
Storage Eltham is committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery among our employees and key suppliers. We provide information and guidance on recognising the signs of exploitation, understanding relevant legislation, and following internal reporting procedures.
Managers and staff involved in procurement, supplier management, and facility operations receive enhanced guidance on due diligence, supplier engagement, and the implementation of our zero-tolerance policy.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Storage Eltham regularly reviews the effectiveness of our policies, risk assessments, and due diligence processes to ensure they remain robust and appropriate to the nature and scale of our operations.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed on an annual basis by our leadership team. As part of the review, we consider changes in our business, emerging risks, feedback from stakeholders, and lessons learned from audits and investigations. Where necessary, we strengthen our controls, update procedures, and enhance training to support continuous improvement.
This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Eltham and reflects our ongoing commitment to operating responsibly, protecting human rights, and preventing modern slavery in all its forms.
